To resist the devil means to not give in to temptations when it is present. As Christians, we need to be spiritually alert- being watchful, and sober. Satan puts temptation before us and lowers us which causes us to sin. After we sin we don’t blame Satan we blame ourselves, he goes after our deepest desires.
How Satan Works
- One of Satan’s biggest temptations is sexual immorality, sex out of marriage or pre-marital sex.
- When you store up your anger and blow out. Sin is an ugly trap, when this happens we need to stand firm in the truth and resist temptation. You may ask, how do I resist the devil? Well, you resist the devil by first submitting to God and fighting your desire to sin. Standing firm in your faith, knowing that the same kind of suffering is being experienced by your brothers and sisters throughout the world. It might be a temptation to store up anger, it might be sexual immorality, it might be giving up on life or giving up your faith. Whatever it is stand firm in God’s word.
So, how do we stand firm in our faith, and resist temptation? We do that by coating and memorizing scriptures. You must know God’s Word, and stand firm in God’s truth, let the word of God be your guide. When temptation is strong, run to God, and soak in his presence. God is our refuge and strength a very present help in times of trouble Psalm 46:1
Trust God to make all things right in His time. Earthly trials are temporary, suffering is temporary in this world. God uses trials to shape and change us. Stand firm in the grace of God. Peace in Christ brings reconciliation with one another. Resist temptation by not being spiritually lazy. Read your Bible, pray, and have accountability for your actions. And always remember that you are more than a conqueror to him that loves you. Be Blessed in Jesus’ Name!
