Believers who are experiencing spiritual attacks in their dreams, I am here to encourage you and let you know that you are not alone. I, too, went through a very dark season of my life where almost every night in my dreams I was battling with demonic entities.
I did not know the full meaning of what Spiritual Warfare means until I discovered that I had open doors that gave the enemy legal right in my life for them to torment me in my dreams. This spiritual attack in my dreams was going on for about 6 and a half years.
I did not know what was going on at the time, and why I kept getting them. The majority of the time, I woke up mad doing warfare Prayer. However, I still didn’t know the root cause of the problem.
Until I began to draw closer to God through prayer and just seeking God, not for this particular problem. But there was one particular moment I remembered where I cried out to God about being spiritually attacked in my dreams by demons. I didn’t get the answer right away.
However, one morning while I was feeding my baby boy, I heard a still voice. Rebellion is like unto witchcraft. And right away, I knew what the Lord meant. See, though I called myself a Christian, I was living in rebellion against God’s word. 1 Samuel 15:23 Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”
I was living a sinful, disobedient life. I was not living my life to please God; I was living for myself. Thus, the Lord heard my prayer and showed me the root behind spiritual attacks in my dreams.
In this blog, I’ll share with you how the enemy gained access to people’s lives. Gates, the enemy, used to gain legal access to a person’s life.
Open doors the enemy uses, how covenants are created in dreams, how to close those gates, and doors in your life so you don’t get spiritual attacks in dreams anymore! And how to set the stage for bed to gain victory over your dream and the enemy.
Guarding our Gates: The Enemy Gains Access to our Lives by Entering Through These 5 Gates
1. Ear gates: The enemy gains access to our lives through listening to secular music. Avoid listening to secular music at all costs. Also, avoid clubbing and wild parties. Pay very close attention to what you are listening to.
When believers participate in these things, they are only opening doors for the enemy to barge into their lives, but what most believers don’t know is that by listening to secular music and going to wild parties / clubbing, they are also worshiping Satan.
2. Eye gates: The enemy gains access to our lives through what we watch on Television. Thus, be very careful what you watch on TV. The enemy uses sex as a weapon to lure people into a trap, especially young people.
Stay away from ungodly movies and TV shows that have sexual content. Don’t go against your convictions and compromise your faith for just 1 hour of pleasure that will lead you to your destruction.
3. Mouth gates: The enemy gains access to our lives through what we speak. Therefore, watch what comes from your mouth. Use your words to bless yourself and people, NOT CURSE. Declare what you want to see happen in your life every day.
For example: “I can do all things through Christ, who gives me strength.” Proverbs 18:21 states Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The tongue has the power to create life and death.
In Mark 11:14, we see Jesus cursing the fig tree. Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” We see this again when Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. Then Jesus looked up and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.”
When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. John 11: 41-44
4. Nose gates: The enemy gains access to our lives through substance abuse. Do not sniff on any drugs such as marijuana, coke, cigarettes, or alcohol / don’t use needles to inject drugs into the body.
Colones or perfume- certain colones and perfumes carry the spirit of lust, so be careful and choose your colognes and perfumes wisely. If you don’t know, ask the Holy Spirit, and He will help you choose the right one.
5. Private parts: The enemy gains access to our lives when we have sex out of marriage. With all costs, do not indulge in having sex before marriage, masturbation, watching pornography, or committing adultery, etc.
Sin is a breeding ground for the enemy to come in and wreak havoc in our lives. When we live a careless life and do not guard our hearts, the consequences are massive. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” This means that we have to watch what goes into our minds.
What we dwell on daily will determine the course of our destiny. We must be aware of our thoughts, because our thoughts become words, our words become actions, our actions become habits, our habits become character, and character becomes our destiny.
HOW DOES THE ENEMY ENTER OUR DREAMS AND ATTACK US AT NIGHT?
Through open doors! What is an open door?
Open doors are sins that we have committed in our lives. Sin allows the enemy to gain access to our lives. He uses our sins against us. Satan is the accuser of the brethren; he accuses us day and night before the Lord. He is called the adversary, the one who opposes us, the one with whom we wrestle.
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Some open doors for spiritual attacks in dreams are: Anger, Unforgiveness, Bitterness, Strife, Jealousy, Gossip, getting drunk on Alcohol, watching Scary movies, listening to Secular music, Lustful thoughts, taking or selling Drugs, Tarot cards, Ouija boards, crystals, Pride, etc., and any other sin that you know of. All these are open doors for the enemy to gain access into your life and wreak havoc.
The Enemy Creates Covenants in Dreams
Common signs that satan is creating covenants with you in dreams are:
Eating in your Dream- If you see yourself eating in your dreams, it means demons are feeding you impure food that manipulates your destiny, blessings, and virtues.
Prayer: I bind every demonic covenant and agreement that I made with the Kingdom of darkness, including every eating covenant, and I disconnect myself from them, in the Mighty name of Jesus! And every covenant that the Lord made with me in my dream, I sealed and received in Jesus Name!
● Through ancestral ties/ bloodline – Which is called Generational Curses. Some of these curses that fall upon people are: Addiction, divorce, poverty, chronic illness, mental health problems, fear, depression, adultery, restless wanderer, dying early- not living out full age, infertility etc… Read Leviticus 26:14-39 (curses that fall upon people out of disobedient) You can do a bloodline fast using psalm 51. ● Picking up money from the ground, giving or taking money from people in your dream – If you see yourself doing any of these in your dream, including wearing old, ragged clothes with holes, symbolizes the spirit of poverty.
This is the spirit of poverty. Bind and rebuke the spirit of poverty upon awaking right away. And lose the spirit of wealth, restoration and prosperity in your life. Matthew 18:18 “Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
● Having sex in your dream – If you see yourself having sex in your dream, it means that you have a spirit husband or a spirit wife. These spirits are called an incubus and a succubus. This spiritual attack often happens through sexual immorality, such as having sex out of marriage, masturbation, adultery, orgies – having group sex, homosexual activity, sexual abuse or rape and watching pornographic content. All of which I have bolded are open doors for spiritual attack. Corinthians 6:18 “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.” God’s will for us believers is to be sexually pure. Purity begins in our hearts; we need to be careful with what we watch and listen to.
Problems That Come With Having Sex In Dreams Are:
☆ Spiritual dryness after compromise; prayer feels “blocked.”
☆ Persistent relationship failure without clear natural causes.
☆ Sudden disgust towards your spouse during intimate moments.
☆ Extreme jealousy when pursuing Godly relationships.
☆ Sabotage of a marriage prospect through unexplained circumstances.
☆ Isolation from healthy relationships with increasing social withdrawal.
☆ Sexual health issues without a medical explanation.
☆ Fatigue and depression, particularly after spiritual encounters.
● Exchanging money or gifts in a dream – Not all money dreams are from God; some are direct spiritual attacks from the enemy. Therefore, be very careful if you have any of these dreams and seek God’s help.
● Kissing in the dream – If you see yourself kissing in your dream, it means you’re under spiritual attack. Kissing symbolizes spiritual betrayal, deception, temptations, or the influence of a “spirit spouse” or demonic entity trying to cause pollution, sickness, or misfortune in your life.
● Signing off on information in a dream – In a spiritual context, signing a document can represent making a covenant, sometimes interpreted as aligning yourself with a particular spiritual force or agreeing to a destiny-altering decision.
● Giving out very important information in a dream – If you feel pressured, fear, etc., most likely it’s a spiritual attack from the enemy. YOU MUST REBUKE AND CANCEL ALL DEMONIC DREAMS UPON AWAKENING RIGHT AWAY!! VERY IMPORTANT SO THAT THEY DON’T MANIFEST IN YOUR LIFE. IF YOU DON’T REMEMBER YOUR DREAM UPON AWAKENING YOU STILL NEED TO REBUKE AND CANCEL ANY POTENTIAL DEMONIC COVENANTS.
Matthew 26:14-16: Judas entered into a covenant with the enemy by selling Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. Exchanging information and taking money from the enemy, he formed a covenant with the devil. And in the end, he ended up losing his life.
We see this with celebrities who sell their souls for riches and fame by signing away their lives. And in the end, dying. (eternal punishment in the lake of fire.) Mark 8:36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his soul?
How to Stop Spiritual Attacks in Dreams:
Confess your sins to God (1 John 1:9). If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. Be open and honest to God, and confess every sin before him. Don’t be ashamed and feel guilty. The Father loves when we are honest with him, so pour out your heart to him in humility.
Repent – Repent of whatever sin you are committing, stop doing it.
Give up your sinful behaviour or lifestyle – Turn away from them. Sin is very attractive, and many of us find it challenging to give up something or someone that is blocking our relationship with God.
To follow Jesus, it’s going to cost us something. It may cost us our friends, relationships, bad habits such as smoking, cursing, partying, alcohol, secular music, and even our own lives. Jesus said if we want to follow him, we must first count the cost.
Luke 14:25-33 It’s going to cost you and me something. He told us if we want to follow him we must take up our cross and follow him. Matthew 16 24-26
Consistently spend time in God’s word – You have now given up your old lifestyle, what’s next? Replace old habits with new ones, cultivate a relationship with Christ by consistently reading God’s word every day.
Build up your prayer life – Begin to talk to God for at least 5 mins throughout the day. And then take it to the next level. Your prayer doesn’t have to be long; sincerity is the key component when communicating with your Father.
Be authentic and transparent with God- Open up by giving him thanks, then share with him your concerns, goals, etc. Share whatever is on your heart for that day.
Constantly seeking God in prayer – Continue to be in the presence of God, NEVER LEAVE THAT PLACE! When we take our eyes off Jesus, we tend to go back to the world and fall into our old, sinful habits.
When we keep our eyes on Jesus, we become less distracted, and the world becomes less attractive to us.
Guarding all your gates: Ear gates, Eye gates, Mouth gates, Nose gates, and Private parts. Basically, anywhere there is an opening to your body, the enemy can gain access to your life through these gates; keep them tightly secure. As believers, we should not be careless with how we live.
Set the stage for bed: Stay off social media and don’t watch anything before bed that could compromise your faith or lead you to sin.
1. Read scripture before bed – Reading scripture before bed is vital. As the end of the day comes to a close. Find a quiet time to spend with God, read his word for at least 15 minutes and meditate on a verse. Worship and sing songs unto God. Doing this each night sets the stage for your sleep as you are getting ready for bed.
2. Pray and declare over your sleep and dream – When you pray ask God to cover your dream under His blood. Ask the Lord to guard your dreams and protect your sleep. Plead the blood of Jesus over your mind, thoughts, your life and your dream.
Declare and forbid any demonic entity, witch, warlock, incubus and succubus spirit not to enter your dream. Declare that your dream is only for the Lord to speak to you at night and no demonic entities are allowed to enter your dream.
3. Cover your sleep and dream under the blood of Christ – Doing this consistently every night protects you from spiritual attacks.
4. Put on the full armour of God, going to bed – As believers we are constantly at war with the enemy even when we are sleeping. Therefore, it only makes sense to wear your armor going to bed as well. The armor is there to protect and defend yourself from spiritual attacks.
5. Play scriptures at night while you sleep, or warfare Prayer – Colossians 3:16 Let the word of God dwell in you richly. One of the armor is the sword of the spirit – the sword of the spirit is the word of God. We use the word of God to defeat the enemy when he attacks us with lies, fears, and doubt.
We tell him it is written… Matthew 4:10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’”
6. During the day, saturate your bedroom with worship or prayer, let it play throughout the day and late evening- Do this bring the presence of God into your room.
In conclusion, spiritual attacks happen in a believer’s dream through open doors in their lives. Open doors are sins believers have harbored in their lives and have not repented of. These sins allow the enemy to spiritually attack and torment believers in their dreams.
You can be free by repenting of your sins and walk in total obedience to God’s word. Repentance is simply turning away from your sinful actions and walking in utterly obedience to God.
There is good news for you Glory to God! God doesn’t want us to stay in bondage to sin. God liberated us from the stain of sin and gave us power to conquer it. Sin has no dominion over us, the curse of sin is broken when Jesus died on the cross. Romans 6:14 “For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace”.
You can also get delivered from the bondage of sin through fasting and prayer. Matthew 17:21 KJV Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.
